Everybody encounters some rejection and pain.  In most cases after being affected, the pain will gradually go away until the victim is painless once more and the soul is unpolluted.  But re-experiencing the rejection can result in recurring, disturbing memories which can cause emotional numbing to avoid any stimuli similar to the trauma of rejection.   People may withdraw psychologically and remain emotionally detached to avoid thoughts of the event.  DISCONNECTED is a story about a little farm girl growing up in the deep south during the civil rights movement of the 1960's. It tells the story of lost childhood as it reveals how racism's past ignites pyschologically in adulthood and destroys her spirit.

According to Carl Jung Pschodynamic Theory,  the personal unconscious contains our repressed thoughts,  forgotten experiences.  They consists of the memories from the past which give rise to certain typical mental images stored in the collective unconscious.

What were Jim Crow laws?

Jim Crow laws were racial segregation laws in the South that were imposed on African Americans. They were similar to Black Codes, which were laws restricting the movement and occupations of newly freed slaves after the Civil War. Jim Crow laws banned blacks from such places as restaurants, hospitals, parks, schools, and barbershops. As a result, blacks were required to use separate facilities or entrances.
